Strata Raises $11M in Series A Funding

Strata

Strata, a Boulder, Colo.-based distributed multi-cloud identity orchestration company, closed an $11M Series A round of financing.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from ForgePoint Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to scale research & development, go-to-market, sales, marketing, and customer success for its Maverics platform. In conjunction with the funding, Venky Ganesan, Partner at Menlo Ventures, joined Strata’s board of directors.

The company’s founders co-authored the SAML standard used today to transparently provide cross-cloud identity and single sign-on (SSO) between web sites.

Led by Eric Olden, CEO, Strata provides the Strata Identity Fabric which enables enterprises to unify on-premises and cloud-based authentication and access systems for consistent identity management in multi-cloud environments and has built a distributed identity orchestration platform, called Maverics. The company was also recently nominated for membership in the invitation-only Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA) to integrate the Maverics Identity Orchestrator with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). This solution enables organizations to transition applications tightly integrated with legacy identity systems such as CA SiteMinder or Oracle Access Manager to Azure AD with no user experience changes and no burden on application teams.
