Future Fields, an Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based cellular agriculture company, raised $2.2m in seed financing.

The round was led by Bee Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and business reach.

Co-founded by Matthew Anderson-Baron, Jalene Anderson-Baron and Lejjy Gafour, Future Fields develops a cellular growth medium that lowers the cost of producing lab-grown meat.

The company participated in Y Combinator S20 company.
