Metafy, a Pittsburgh-PA-based platform for one-on-one coaching from champion-level gamers, closed its $3M seed funding round.
The round was led by Forerunner Ventures with participation from Tekton Ventures and M25. Angel investors include Naval Ravikant (co-founder and former CEO of AngelList), Matt Cooper (CEO of Skillshare), executives at Facebook and Microsoft, and the founders of esports teams Tempostorm and Tribe Gaming.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Co-founded by Josh Fabian and Thomas McNiven in August 2020, Metafy helps gamers of all skill levels improve through one-on-one coaching from the best players in the world. From aspiring professionals to casual players, Metafy aims to give gamers the ability to book world-class lessons instantly and chat with coaches in real time.
