IHS Markit Buys Cappitech

IHS Markit (NYSE: INFO), a London, UK-based provider of critical information, analytics and solutions, acquired Cappitech, an Israeli compliance technology provider.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The deal will enable IHS to expand its suite of global, multi-asset class transaction regulatory reporting offerings to the financial industry.

Led by Ronen Kertis, CEO & Founder, Cappitech provides regulatory reporting, best execution analysis and business intelligence solutions, allowing customers to efficiently comply with transaction reporting regulations across multiple jurisdictions in one place. Its cross-jurisdiction compliance system fully automates the reporting process and provides a comprehensive view on a single dashboard for reporting regimes in Europe such as EMIR, MiFID, SFTR, RTS 27/8, FinFrag as well as global regimes such as Canadian reporting, ASIC, MAS.

The firm’s cloud-based platform is used by over 200 global banks, brokers, asset managers, hedge funds and corporations.

In 2019, IHS Markit selected Cappitech’s platform as a key component of its SFTR (Securities Financing Transactions Regulation) solution, which is now used by some of the largest financial institutions in the world.
