Clash Secures Investment; Buys Byte App

Clash, a Los Angeles, CA-based creator monetization company, secured a funding round of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Alexis Ohanian’s new fund Seven Seven Six with participation from M13 Ventures and Plug and Play.

The company, which will use the funds to accelerate product development as it brings new monetization tools to creators, is also acquiring the Byte app, a short-form video platform.

Following the deal, Byte will continue to have the same in-app experience, with new monetization tools and features coming soon. For the time being, Clash and Byte will not see any interruption in their experience, and all users should download the Byte app.

Byte was founded by Vine founder Dom Hofmann, who will continue on with Clash in an advisory role as the company moves forward,
