Laika Secures $10M in Series A Funding

Laika, a NYC-based information security and compliance-as-a-service platform, raised $10m in equity financing.

The round was led by Canapi Ventures with participation from existing investors Bain Capital, NYCA Partners, and Third Prime with participation founders, CEOs, and CTOs of Plaid, GLG, Flatiron Health, Shutterstock, and Quovo. In conjunction with the deal, Jeffrey Reitman, Partner at Canapi Ventures, joined Laika’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the team and platform capabilities, and continue simplify the compliance and audit process for growing businesses.

Founded by Austin Ogilvie and Sam Li, both two-time founders and Y Combinator alumni, and industry veteran, Eva Pittas, who oversaw global risk and compliance functions at Citigroup for 20 years, Laika provides compliance audit management through automated workflows featuring subject-matter experts. Companies can scale by automating workflows in audit preparation, due diligence, vendor management, and more.

From control implementation to vendor management, workflows are centralized and automated while Laika’s concierge team streamlines audit prep and management through enterprise procurement.
