Allbirds Closes $100M Series E Funding

Allbirds

Allbirds, a maker of shoes and flats made with natural materials, raised $100M in Series E funding.

The round was led by Franklin Templeton, with participation from T. Rowe Price, Baillie Gifford, TDM Growth Partners, Rockefeller Capital Management, and additional new and returning investors.

The company intends to use the funds to enter new product categories, grow the business internationally and expand its fleet of brick-and-mortar stores.

Allbirds is a maker of shoes and flats made with natural materials like merino wool and eucalyptus fiber. The Series E follows the launch of Tree Dashers, its first performance running shoe and its best product launch to-date. Additionally, the international arm of the business continues to grow, especially in the Asia-Pacific region where launches in Japan and South Korea and the continued growth of the Chinese market have been notable.

The company – which has raised more than $200M since its launch in March 2016 – currently operates globally with 21 retail locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, and New Zealand.
