Grubbly Farms Closes $2.9M Seed Funding

Grubbly Farms

Grubbly Farms, an Atlanta, GA-based market leader in sustainable, insect-based snacks and feed for backyard chickens, closed a $2.9m seed funding.

The round was led by Overline, with participation from Oval Park Capital, Techstars, and Create-X.

The company intends to use the funds to expand reach of its products and to introduce new ones.

Founded in 2016 by Sean Warner, CEO, and Patrick Pittaluga, COO, Grubbly Farms offers Grubblies and Grubbly Layer Feed, which are made with black soldier fly larvae (grubs), a sustainable protein source. The company has helped recycle nearly 4 million pounds of food waste to date. These nutrient-rich grubs also have the power to replace conventional protein for pets, such as fishmeal, which provides relief to overfished oceans.
