GoStudent, a Vienna, Austria-based e-learning startup, closed an €8.3M Series A funding round.
The round was led by Left Lane Capital with participation from DN Capital and existing investors, and the founders of Swoodoo and HomeToGo.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its presence to other European markets in the German-speaking region, further invest into product.
Led by Felix Ohswald, CEO, who co-founded the company in 2017 with Gregor Müller and his brother Moritz, GoStudent operates a digital school connecting students with teachers worldwide for individual or group tutoring sessions. The company offers 6, 12, and 24-month tutoring subscription packages to students in the DACH region. Classes are digitally taught live in a virtual classroom setting – with GoStudent providing software tools to both students and teachers, allowing both parties to focus entirely on teaching, tutoring, and learning. The startup uses AI to support its tutor selection and onboarding processes and also offers a free social homework chat where students can discuss their questions with others in an easy and safe environment. GoStudent currently books 55,000+ monthly sessions across its customer base with 1,100+ active tutors on the platform. It has 60+ full-time employees.
