BibliU Raises $10M in Series A Funding

BibliU, a London, UK-based digital learning platform that makes textbooks and reading materials accessible, secured $10m in a Series A equity funding round.

The round was led by Nesta Impact Investments with participation from Guinness Asset Management, direct investment clients of Stonehage Fleming and ClearlySo. Oxford Sciences Innovation, BibliU’s original investor, will remain on the board and will be joined by Lisa Barclay from Nesta. In conjunction with the funding, Sean Devine joined the company’s board as Chairman, bringing to BibliU his experience as CEO and President of CourseSmart and Safari Books Online.

Led by Dave Sherwood, CEO, BibliU provides a digital learning platform that makes online course materials accessible and searchable for students of all backgrounds. The company works with more than 40% of universities in the United Kingdom and with over 2,000 individual publishers to bring a complete catalogue of digital content to institutions. So far, BibliU has raised $15m in venture capital. It has employees in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.
