Blazejewski MEDI-TECH GmbH, a German endoscope specialist, received a minority investment from SHS Gesellschaft für Beteiligungsmanagement mbH.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
SHS is acquiring a 24.9-percent stake in the company, which intends to use the funds to strategically advance its internationalization.
Established in 1991 by Reinhold Blazejewski, Blazejewski MEDI-TECH is a manufacturer of medical endoscopes known for its rigid and semirigid 2D endoscopes (including with chipon-the-tip technology) that deliver high quality images. The firm also manufactures, 3D endoscopes that offer high level spatial representation and, with an outer diameter of less than 2.5 millimetres, are unique worldwide. Blazejewski MEDI-TECH currently has employees in Sexau near Freiburg in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. Approval for BMTvision®- type 3D endoscopes is planned for 2020.
