WhyHotelWhyHotel, a Washington, DC-based alternative lodging service that operates pop-up hotels in newly built, luxury apartment buildings, secured over $20m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Harbert Growth Partners with participation from Camber Creek, Highland Capital Partners, Working Lab Capital, Geolo Capital, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, and Mark Nunnelly, former Managing Director of Bain Capital Partners.

The company, which has raised over $35M since its inception in 2017, intends to use the funds to enhance the team, expand its presence nationwide and add products and services to guests during stays.

Led by Jason Fudin, CEO and Co-founder, WhyHotel operates 100 to 250 room pop-up hotels with 24/7 on-site staff in newly built, luxury apartment buildings. The company’s concept provides developers with a new way to utilize units during lease-up and provides tourists/guests with a new way to travel.
The company’s new business arm, Hospitality Living, will deliver a flexible use development, targeted to launch in 2022.
