ReCarbon Raises US$7M in Funding

ReCarbon ReCarbon, Inc., a Santa Clara, CA-based developer of a Plasma Carbon Conversion Unit (PCCU), which is greenhouse gas utilization technology, raised US$ 7m in funding as a part of the Series B funding.

Doosan Mecatec Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Doosan Group, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, made the investment.

Led by President and CEO, Dr. Jay Kim, ReCarbon is the creator of a technology platform that recycles carbon emissions into revenue generating products. The company specializes in building proprietary plasma generation systems that convert industrial carbon emissions into industrial gases.

Its pilot plant in Daegu, South Korea, is capable of producing fuel cell grade hydrogen from landfill gas (LFG).
ReCarbon is also advancing a commercial plant in Tennessee, USA, with its exclusive national LFG to renewable hydrogen distributor, H2Renewables, LLC, and developing projects in Canada and Australia.
