HackerRank, a Mountain View, CA-based developer skills company, acquired Mimir, a cloud-based platform for computer science courses.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Led by Prahasith Veluvolu, co-founder and CEO, Mimir delivers an innovative way for professors and teaching assistants to educate computer science students and assess their progress. Universities like Michigan State University, Illinois Institute of Technology and Finger Lakes Community College use Mimir to scale their computer science programs.

Together, the two companies will provide computer science classrooms with a comprehensive developer assessment platform, allowing students to prepare for real-world programming and universities to accurately evaluate student progress.

Led by Vivek Ravisankar, co-founder and CEO, HackerRank is a developer skills platform that allows businesses to evaluate software developers based on skill. Over 2,000 customers across all industries, including 5 out of the leading 8 commercial banks in the U.S., use its automated skills assessments to evaluate and hire technical talent from around the world.
