Varentec Raises $5M in Growth Funding

varentecVarentec, a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of grid-edge intelligence and control solutions, raised $5m in funding.

The round was led by WindSail Capital Group.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate new commercial deployments of its Grid Edge Control technology.

Originally funded by Bill Gates, Khosla Ventures and 3M, and led by Guillaume Dufossé, Chairman and CEO, Varentec provides intelligence and dynamic control solutions to the edge of the grid through its Edge of Network Grid Optimization (ENGO®) hardware and Grid Edge Management System (GEMS®) software. This Grid Edge Control solution augments standard grid modernization systems, enhances energy/demand savings, and boosts DER hosting capacity.
