Clumio, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based SaaS based enterprise backup company, raised $135m in series C funding.
The round, which brought funding raised to date to $186M, was led by Mike Speiser, managing director of Sutter Hill Ventures, and new investor Altimeter Capital, with participation from Index Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to:
– Accelerate the growth of its engineering team, both at its headquarters in Santa Clara, CA and in its new development center in Bangalore, India
– Expand go to market and service operations in the U.S.
– Add support for its channel strategy with additional partner resources and programs, and
– Introduce support for new workloads.
Led by Poojan Kumar, CEO and co-founder, Clumio provides SaaS-based enterprise class backup solutions for organizations to protect workloads like VMware Cloud on AWS and native AWS services.
Its secure, backup as a service platform consolidates the protection of an enterprise data center and any remote sites with no hardware or software to size, configure, manage – or buy at all.
