Banjo Robinson Raises £1M in Pre-Seed Funding

Banjo RobinsonBanjo Robinson, a London, UK-based new-to-market subscription which turns reading, writing and learning about the world into a magical game for 5-8 year olds, raised £1m in pre-seed funding.

The round was led by Collab+Sesame, a partnership between Sesame Ventures and the Collaborative Fund.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its first subscription product.

Founded in 2018 by Kate Boyle, Banjo Robinson is a globetrotting CAT who sends real letters, maps, stickers and stories to children, twice a month, from exciting destinations like the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Indonesia and Iceland. Letters are personalised with details about each child’s interests – their favourite food, hobbies, etc., via a subscription based model.
The brand counts the former CEO of LoveFilm, Simon Calver, and the CEO of Moo.com, Richard Moross, MBE, among its advisors.
