Unilever, the transnational consumer goods company co-headquartered in London, United Kingdom, and Rotterdam, Netherlands, recently made two acquisitions.
The most recent acquisition was Lenor Japan, a skin care business with presence in Japan and China.
The deal, whose amount was not disclosed, represents an addition to Unilever’s Beauty and Personal Care portfolio, and offers an opportunity to fill the white-spaces of Japanese-beauty, premium face and derma care in Japan and China.
The deal follows the purchase of Astrix S.A, a Bolivian manufacturer of home and personal care brands. which was announced at the end of August 2019.
Founded in 1993, Astrix has become one of the most important local players in the field of Personal and Home Care products, with brands such as OLA, an iconic Home Care brand present in most Bolivian households. Its Home Care portfolio, which accounts for the vast majority of the turnover, is the market leader in dishwash, fabric conditioner, hard surface cleaner, and toilet care.
Over the past years, the company expanded into Personal Care and Baby Care.
The recently launched small Foods portfolio of Astrix was not included in the transaction.
Even in this case, the terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
