Unagi Scooters Scores $3.15M in Funding

unagiUnagi, an Oakland, CA-based maker of portable electric scooters, raised $3.15m in seed funding.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its business, with continued research and development and increased production.

Led by CEO and Founder David Hyman, Unagi makes electric scooters which have a sleek, modern design, are made of carbon fiber, magnesium and cnc-machined aluminum, and feature dual motors totaling 450 watts with a weight of 24 pounds.
Customers have the option of purchasing one for as low as $840, or participating in a pay-by-installments plan for as low as $35.00 per month.
