Labrador Systems, a Los Angeles, CA-based developer of assistive robots, closed a $2M pre-seed funding round.
The round was led by SOSV’s hardware accelerator HAX, in partnership with Centrica Hive, with participation from Amazon’s Alexa Fund, iRobot Ventures and iD Ventures America.
The company intends to use the funds to expand development of its platform and conduct pilot studies with partners in 2020.
Co-founded by Mike Dooley and Nikolai Romanov, Labrador Systems is an early stage technology company developing a new generation of assistive robots to improve the quality of care while promoting independence and successful aging.
The company’s personal robot, the company’s first offering, will enter pilot studies in 2020.
