Kimmeridge Closes Fifth E&P-Focused Fund, At $800M

oil and gasKimmeridge Energy Management Company, LLC, an energy private equity firm focused on making direct investments in unconventional oil and gas assets in the U.S., closed its fifth fund, at $800m.

Kimmeridge Energy Fund V is focused on continuing Kimmeridge’s strategy of directly acquiring and developing unconventional assets in top-tier basins. The fund received support from institutional investors including endowments, foundations, family offices and sovereign wealth funds.

Founded in 2012 by Ben Dell, Dr. Neil McMahon and Henry Makansi, Kimmeridge is an energy private equity firm focused on making direct investments in unconventional oil and gas assets in the U.S.
Inclusive of prior fundraises and co-investments, the firm has raised approximately $2.8 billion of limited partner commitments since the firm’s founding in 2012.

The firm is based in NYC and Denver.
