HMP Buys Provascular

hmp lincHMP, a Malver, PA-based provider of healthcare events and education, acquired Provascular GmbH, a Germany-based company producing cardiovascular education and events.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The agreement with Provascular includes a strategic alliance with the company’s event management group, CongO GmbH, to produce the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC), a global cardiovascular conference held annually in Leipzig, Germany.
Created in 2005, LINC is a four-day interdisciplinary meeting designed to foster collaboration among colleagues and promote the understanding and development of endovascular therapies that can be incorporated into daily clinical practice. The core format of the LINC course is live, case-based education combined with discussion forum arenas where controversial topics and challenging cases are debated. It provides information on the latest techniques and technologies for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vascular disease—nearly 5,000 attendees from 82 countries participated in the 2019 meeting.
The organization also produces an Asia-Pacific meeting and has agreements in place to deliver LINC education in other parts of the world.

The Provascular leadership team of Dierk Scheinert, MD and Andrej Schmidt, MD will continue to serve in their current capacity, guiding the strategic vision for LINC, with CongO continuing to manage production of the meeting.

Led by Jeff Hennessy, Chairman and CEO, HMP produces accredited medical education events and clinically relevant, evidence-based content for the global healthcare community across a range of therapeutic areas. Its brands include Consultant360, the platform used by primary care providers and other specialists; Psych Congress, a large independent mental health meeting in the U.S.; EMS World Expo, North America’s largest EMT and paramedic event; and the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC), a large wound care meeting in the world.
With this partnership, HMP will produce more than 300 global, regional and local events in 2020 across ten therapeutic areas.
