Shapr3D Secures US$6M in Series A Funding

shapr3dShapr3D, a Budapest, Hungary-based startup that developed a 3D CAD modeling app for iPad Pro, raised US$6m in series A financing.

Backers included Point Nine and Creandum.

The company, which has raised US$7.3m in total funding also including previous investment from InReach Ventures and Lifeline Ventures, intends to use the funds to open new European office locations, create new distribution channels, and grow its headcount to 100, with new addition to both engineering and commercial roles, and to a VP of marketing.

Led by István Csanády, CEO and founder, Shapr3D was created a mobile app for 3D CAD design, running Parasolid and HOOPS Exchange on iOS natively, designed specifically for iPad Pro, which can be used by mechanical and industrial engineers and designers.
So far, it has had more than one million downloads from the Apple App Store.
