SWISSto12, a Renens, Switzerland-based provider of telecommunications components for the satellite and aerospace industries, closed a CHF18.1M ($18.5M) in Series B funding.
The round was led by Swisscanto Invest by Zürcher Kantonalbank and Swisscom Ventures and returning investor Constantia New Business (CNB). In conjunction with the funding, Swisscanto Invest and Swisscom Ventures joined SWISSto12’s board.
The company intends to use the funds:
– to accelerate industrialization and the commercial deployment of antenna products for communication satellites,
– to introduce new advanced communication payloads for the SmallSat market,
– to continue the expansion of its recently opened offices in the U.S. and Israel, and
– to explore first opportunities in terrestrial communications such as 5G.
Led by Dr. Emile de Rijk, CEO, SWISSto12 is a provider of 3D-printed telecommunications equipment for the satellite and aerospace industries. Customers include Airbus Defense and Space, Thales Alenia Space, Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions and the European Space Agency.
