Ready Raises $5M in Funding

the ready gamesReady, a NYC-based maker of a casual esports tournament platform, raised $5m in funding.

The round was led by Bitkraft Esports Ventures with participation from new investors Comcast Ventures and Eldridge Industries.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its audience and to accelerate growth in the hyper-casual gaming market.

Founded in 2016 by David Bennahum, Jonathan Slimak and Christina Macedo, Ready develops The Ready Games, an esports tournament platform which enables casual players to compete in casual mobile games. Players can participate in practice runs before playing an official run to compete. The prize money is split among top players.

The platform is available for free on iOS and Android in the USA and Canada.

The company currently has 23 employees.
