Compass Raises $370M in Series G Funding; Valued at $6.4 Billion

compassCompass, a New York-based real estate company, raised $370M in Series G funding at $6.4 Billion valuation.

Backers included:
– Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB),
– Dragoneer Investment Group, and
– SoftBank Vision Fund.

The company, which has raised $1.5 billion to date, intends to use the funds to continue expanding geographically (within existing markets in the U.S. such as New York, Connecticut, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, SF and LA and other areas), as well as develop its tech and products.

Led by co-founder and chairman Ori Allon and co-founder & CEO Robert Reffkin, Compass is a building a proprietary real estate platform, which leverages technology to make the search and sell experience intelligent.
In particular, the platform allows agents to discover pricing, timing for sales and how to stage homes to get the best prices and sales, to manage time and private and and commercial customers.
