Modern Fertility Raises $15M in Series A Funding

Modern Health LogoModern Fertility, a San Francisco, CA-based women’s health company making fertility hormone testing accessible, raised $15m in series A funding.

The round, wnich has raised a total of $22m to date, was led by Forerunner Ventures with the firm’s Founding Partner Kirsten Green also joining Modern Fertility’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to deliver new experiences and products in reproductive health and develop its own research to advance fertility science.

Led by Afton Vechery, CEO and co-founder, and Carly Leahy, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Modern Fertility makes personalized reproductive health information accessible earlier in life, starting with fertility.
The company’s first product makes the same fertility hormone tests found in infertility clinics available to women before they’re ready for kids, at a fraction of the traditional cost. The test can be taken at home or in a nearby lab.

Other investors in Modern Fertility included Maveron, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Box Group, #Angels and Y Combinator.
