Funderbeam Secures US$ 4.5M in Series A Funding

Funderbeam, a Tallinn, Estonia and London, UK-based global funding and trading platform, raised US$4.5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by UK-based Accelerated Digital Ventures (ADV), with participation from new investors GK-Plug and Play Indonesia, Pandan Ventures, and existing investors Draper Associates, Draper Venture Partners, IQ Capital, and Mistletoe.

The company intends tro use the funds to develop its secondary market offering as well as further expand into key markets such in Asia, starting from Singapore and to continental Europe.

Founded in 2013 by Kaidi Ruusalepp, CEO, Funderbeam provides a global funding and trading platform tht aims to close the gap in venture and SME capital markets by providing access and liquidity to growth investments.

To date, Funderbeam has 37 high-growth portfolio companies on marketplace, onboarded more than 10,000 verified investors across 119 countries.
It has also traded more than US$ 2.2 million worth in investment shares.
US$ 2.2 million worth of investment shares have exchanged hands on its secondary marketplace.
Last year, Funderbeam expanded to the UK, established a base in Singapore, and increased its presence in the Nordics.

The company has also announced that co-founder Urmas Peiker will leave the company to focus on his mission to change the capital markets in developing markets with a focus on Brazil.
