Foodles Raises $10M In Funding

foodlesFoodles, a Clichy, France-based catering service, raised $10m in funding.

Backers included Creadev, DN capital and Adelie. Existing shareholder catering and foodservice company Elior is selling its shares in the company in conjunction with the the deal.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach beyond the Paris area.

Foodles has created a catering service available 24/7, allowing employees at SMEs to eat when they want premium dishes.
On a daily basis, the company offers 2 different services:
– Connected refrigerators directly implemented in the restoration space and refilled every day.
– A pre-order service in the morning, with delivery at the workplace.
Every day, each employee can freely use the fridges, as long as he/she has a Foodles account. He/she badges, the fridge door unlocks, the employee picks the meal he/she wants and closes the door. The refrigerator will then detect what the employee has chosen, and directly charge the employee on his account.

The startup delivers around 5,000 meals per day.
