Pangaea Ventures Closes Fourth Advanced Materials Fund, at $70M

pangaeaPangaea Ventures, a Vancouver, BC venture capital firm, closed its fourth advanced-materials fund, at approx. $70m.

Pangaea Ventures Fund IV received support from limited partners including VanCity and BC Tech Fund, managed by Kensington Capital Partners, CoorsTek, JSR, Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings, Adidas, Doosan, Henkel, Lam Research, PTT Global, Sekisui, Severstal, Shin-Etsu and TOSOH.

Fund IV has made six investments to date, in materials-driven companies addressing diverse market applications. The portfolio includes startups with commercial products in display materials, medical devices, 5G data electronics, and the 3D printing of living human tissue.

It is expected that the fund will make a further 6-8 investments.

Established in 2000 and led by General Partner Chris Erickson, Pangaea Ventures is a venture capital firm which invests in startups using advanced materials. Its portfolio addresses multi-billion dollar markets in energy, electronics, health, and sustainability.

The firm has offices in Vancouver BC Canada, Scottsdale AZ USA and Hillsborough NJ USA.
