Spike Raises $5M in Funding

spikeSpike, a San Francisco, CA-based conversational email platform, raised $5m in funding.

Backers included Wix, Koa Labs, and NFX.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its reach in the small business market.

Led by co-founder and CEO Dvir Ben-Aroya, Spike enhances the way businesses and professionals communicate internally and externally by combining conventional email with instant messaging to eliminate long email threads and encourage prompt responses from contacts. Its real-time awareness features allow for improved interactions between parties while the group features can be used to facilitate collaboration and manage tasks and projects. In addition, the file management functionality allows users to preview any file type within the message.

Its chat-like interface is enhanced with voice and video calls, group collaboration, integration with cloud-based file storage services, and more. Spike is multi-platform and runs on iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and the Web. It works on top of any existing email that supports IMAP including Office 365 and G Suite.
