Sketch Secures $20M in Series A Funding

sketchSketch, a The Hague, Netherlands-based provider of a digital design tool kit, secured $20m in Series A funding.

Benchmark made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to build the product and scale the best version of its platform.

Founded in early 2008 by Pieter Omvlee and Emanuel Sá, the company provides a tool for designing user interfaces, websites, and icons for desktop and mobile devices. Over one million designers — from freelancers, to some of the largest companies in the world — use Sketch to share and collaborate on their designs to transform their ideas into products.
The system, which integrates with many existing prototyping, collaboration and version control apps, allows users to take designs from ideation through to realization, without ever leaving the app, and, with Shared Libraries on Sketch Cloud, to have a single source to create, share and collaborate on designs with everyone on their team, no matter where they are.
