Matador Raises $9M in Seed Financing

matadorMatador, a New York City-based fintech startup, raised $9M in seed financing.

The round was led by Accel and Greycroft.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.

Led by Jannick Malling, Co-founder & CEO, Matador provides a mobile app for young Americans to grow their money by exploring, sharing, and discovering the stock market with friends. From one account, users can earn a baseline 2.5% interest on cash, or invest money in the stock market with the confidence of the community by their side. The app is available for iOS with the Android app coming soon.
The company is also backed by Advancit Capital.
