The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Launched last year and led by Shakeeb Saqlain, CEO, IslamicMarkets is an e-learning, financial intelligence and investing platform for the global Islamic economy, estimated to be worth USD$3.8 trillion by 2022.

Its offerings include:

  • a platform that unlocks investment and business opportunities across the global Islamic economy;
  • a learning platform which provides a single channel to access learning solutions, combined with reporting and analytical tools; and
  • an advisory team, which works closely with firms, governments and academia across the Islamic economy to provide advisory and consultancy services in relation to the establishment, promotion and regulation of Islamic finance and FinTech markets.

Founded by Adam Sadiq and Zeiad Idris, NWCA seeks to bring traditional merchant banking principles to new markets. It specializes in complex investment opportunities that are often overlooked by the largest banks and asset managers, taking long-term stakes in businesses with high-growth potential where it can add value by providing strategic advice and access to key markets across the globe.
