Ease Raises $19M in Series B Funding

easeEase (fka EaseCentral), a San Francisco, CA-based HR and benefits software solution for SMBs, insurance brokers, and insurance carriers, closed a $19m Series B funding round.

The round was led by Centana Growth Partners with participation from Propel Venture Partners, Compound Ventures, Freestyle Capital and Upside Partnership.

The company intends to use the funds to build new product capabilities and hire talent.

Started in 2012 by CEO David Reid and Courtney Guertin, Ease is an online benefits enrollment system built for insurance brokers and employers. The company allows people to set up and manage benefits, onboard new hires, stay compliant, and offer employees one destination for all their human resources information.
The company, which has offices in Las Vegas, New York, Omaha, and San Diego, recently hired COO Petar Nedyalkov and VP Engineering Toshi Kureha.

In addition to the funding, it announced an update to their system, used by over 60,000 businesses. In collaboration with MetaLab, the update will include a new product design and system enhancements, such as the ability for businesses to directly submit benefit enrollment to national insurance carriers, and partner collaboration features that connect key industry players, like third party administrators and carriers.
