A collaboration between Internet veterans Lane Patterson (CEO of Patterson Technologies, former VP of Symantec, Yahoo!, Verizon Media and former CTO of Equinix), Aaron Hughes (Founder and President of 6connect, President of PeeringDB, President of Open-IX and former VP of Terremark) and Mehmet Akcin (CEO of Kapany Networks Inc., Founder of Network Atlas and EdgeUno, former senior roles with Microsoft, Yahoo! and ICANN), EdgeUno is a stealth mode startup focusing on providing hosting services for businesses that needs low-latency and high available connectivity to end users.
The company plans to use the funds to bring advanced edge computing services to Latin America. It is to acquire the data center and internet service company, Red Uno S A, which had been operating in Colombia for more than 20 years. The acquisition of Red Uno will give the company a presence in Colombia as it begins its long term goal of providing edge computing services to the entire continent.
