Sonrai Security Raises $18.5M in Series A Funding

Sandy BirdSonrai Security, a NYC-based Cloud Data Control company, raised $18.5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Polaris Partners and TenEleven Ventures, with participation from New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF). In conjunction with the funding, Polaris Partners Managing Partner Dave Barrett and TenEleven Ventures Founder and Managing General Partner Alex Doll joined Sonrai’s board.

Co-founded in 2017 by Brendan Hannigan and Sandy Bird, Sonrai Security provides a discovery, classification, mapping and automation platform combining hybrid cloud security and risk mitigation putting the data itself at the center of the cloud security universe, and bridges SecOps and DevOps teams to provide security, compliance and efficiency. The solution has the ability to discover and track data and users across any cloud service (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.) and to third-party data sources (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, MySQL, etc.).

The company has offices in New York, Texas and New Brunswick, Canada.
