Farewill Raises £7.5M in Funding

farewillFarewill, a London, UK-based will writing service, raised £7.5m in funding.

Backers included Augmentum Fintech, Taavet Hinrikus, Tracy Terrill, JamJar, SAATCHiNVEST, dmg ventures, Kindred Capital, Tiny VC and Venture Founders.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its team and improve the service.

Led by Dan Garrett, co-founder and CEO, Farewill provides an online platform for people to create their will. It works by asking users a few questions online, with the support of live chat and phone on hand.
Once users have finished with the will, one of the company’s legal experts will check it over to make sure everything is okay, asking if an issue arises.
Once the will is ready, users can go ahead and print and sign. They will need two witnesses there to also sign the will.
Finally, people need to store their will safely and tell executors where it is.

The company has partnered with a number of insurance companies such as Legal & General and Aviva and charity partners including Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
