Chowbus Raises $4M in Funding

ChowbusChowbus, a Chicago, IL-based marketplace that enables diners to explore and order high-quality authentic food and empowers local independent restaurants with the technology, tools, and marketing to grow their business, raised $4m in funding.

The round was led by Greycroft Partners and FJ Labs, with participation from Hyde Park Angels, Fika Ventures, and individual investors.

The company intends to use the funds to further invest in developing the platform, expand to new markets, and onboard several key team members.

Led by Linxin Wen, co-founder and CEO, Chowbus operates as a food-discovery platform, connecting diners with small, local restaurants’ dishes. Its services include an online marketplace to order food via pickup and delivery, as well as a Chowbus Shuttle, which delivers food on efficient routes. The company also provides restaurants with logistical, marketing and technology support to showcase their best dishes by creating dish-centric menus with photography and user ratings.

Chowbus, which currently operates in Chicago, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Champaign, IL, and Lansing, MI, also has offices in Boston and Philadelphia.
