Cargo Chief, a Millbrae, CA-based provider of a carrier integration platform matching freight loads to overlooked trucking capacity, raised over $2.5m in funding.
This round was led by BootstrapLabs, with participation from Herb Shear, David Brown, and other industry veterans. In conjunction with the funding, SaaS investor David Brown joined Cargo Chief’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to develop, launch and enhance its platform.
Cargo Chief provides the C4® carrier integration platform, which allows 3PLs (third-party logistics providers) to digitally match freight loads for their shipper customers to overlooked trucking capacity. The C4 platform provides new visibility within the 3PL’s carrier network to find current—and future—capacity available for a load, and then provides options for booking the load on the spot. Additionally, the system provides the option for 3PLs to access Cargo Chief’s own network of thousands of integrated carriers, providing consistent shipping options for their customers.
