10x Genomics Raises Additional $35m in Series D Funding

10x10x Genomics, a Pleasanton, CA-based advanced biology company, raised an additional $35m in Series D funding.

The round, which brings total valuation to $1.28 billion and total financing raised to date to $243m, was led by Meritech Capital with participation from Fidelity and Wells Fargo.

Founded in 2012 by Serge Saxonov, CEO and co-founder, 10x Genomics provides products that enable the acceleration of genetic discoveries. Used in the Human Cell Atlas project as well as by biomedical research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, and clinical centers, the company’s products provide insights for unlocking fundamental biology, understanding disease and advancing human health.
In the last six months, 10x acquired two companies, Epinomics and Spatial Transcriptomics – leaders in the fields of epigenetics and spatial genomics, added a research facility in Sweden to develop new technologies, and opened offices in Singapore and Shanghai to serve the Asian market.
Two months ago, the company launched its latest products, Chromium Single Cell ATAC Solution and Feature Barcoding technology, that will accelerate genomic research by introducing scalable multi-omics analysis.

10x Genomics is also financed by Venrock, Softbank, and Foresite Capital.
