Glose SAS, a Paris, France-based social and collaborative reading platform, completed a €3m financing.
Backers included OneRagTime, Expon Capital, Kima Ventures, BPI France, and business angels Sébastien Breteau (The Breteau Foundation), Patrick Bertrand (Cegid/Holnest), and Julien Codorniou (Facebook).
The company intends to use the funds to expand its R&D and launch Glose Education, a new reading solution for students and teachers.
Launched in 2014 by Nicolas Princen, Glose is a digital reading solution that makes reading social and collaborative on all screens (smartphones, tablets, computers). Its flagship app contains more than one million digital books from 800 partnering editors and already counts 600 000 users.
In 2018, the company worked with teachers to apply its advanced technology to in-school reading. In 2019, the startup will launch Glose Education, an adaptive learning and reading platform that brings digital technology to education, with access to textual content, creation of reading groups, collaborative reading, personalization, and individual monitoring.
The app is available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Nook HD and on the web.
