Thingthing, the Barcelona, Spain-based company behind Fleksy Keyboard, a private smartphone keyboard, secured $815.119 via its latest equity crowdfunding campaign.
446 investors participated in the round.
The new funds will enable the company to continue its growth driven by phone brands’ interest in integrating Fleksy with their mobile devices.
Led by Olivier Plante, CEO, Thingthing is advancing Fleksy, a mobile keyboard extension that offers content suggestions based on user conversations. Fleksy users can access content on any messaging app and perform web searches without having to switch between apps. Fleksy is available for both Android and iOS in 45+ languages. With more than 13 million downloads to date, Fleksy allows mobile handset OEMs to monetize via fleksyapps by sharing revenue of each link users share.
Palm, the startup that recently launched its namesake connected device, partnered with Thingthing to natively integrate Fleksy. This integration is the first of several marquee phone and brand partnerships the company is pursuing in the US, Europe and Asia including those with governments to fill the need for a private and secure keyboard for their phones.
