AgTech Company Bear Flag Robotics Raises $3.5M in Seed

bear flag roboticsBear Flag Robotics, a Sunnyvale, Calif.- based agtech company, raised $3.5m in seed funding.

The round was led by True Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Rohit Sharma, venture partner at True Ventures, joined Bear’s board.

The company, which has raised $4.5m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.

Co-founded by Igino Cafiero and Aubrey Donnellan in 2017, Bear Flag Robotics is an agtech company developing autonomous technology for farms to automate many of their most common tasks. These include spraying and mowing operations in specialty crops such as nuts, fruits and grapes in addition to common ground prep tasks such as discing and ripping.
Bear Flag will provide leasing options to growers. Additionally, they will offer both full-service and hybrid models, where operations are supervised by a central location. Operations will begin by the end of 2018.
