VYPE Media, a Houston-based promoter of youth and high school sports, acquired K-MAC Sports, LLC, an Austin-based online sports broadcasting network.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
As one of the largest and most diverse online broadcasting outlets in Texas, K-MAC Sports has spent nearly 15 years covering nine sports categories at hundreds of high schools and colleges across the state, as well as select semi-pro and professional sports events. The company’s coverage includes live, online:
– game analysis,
– commentary,
– interviews, and
– talk shows.
The acquisition supports VYPE Media’s expansion into the high school and youth sports market. The addition of real-time streaming commentary builds on the strength of VYPE Media’s print, film and digital sports reporting flagship, VYPE Magazine.
Led by Bert Emanuel, Chief Marketing Officer and former NFL player, VYPE Media provides content and services for high school and youth sports.
It has filmed over 13,000 games since 2016 and is actively recruiting additional broadcasters and film crew members to support expanded operations for the new broadcasting division. Sponsorship opportunities are now available to companies and organizations that target the $15 billion high school and youth sports market, expected to grow to $44 billion by 2021.
