kettle fireKettle & Fire, an Austin, Texas-based shelf-stable bone broth brand, raised $8m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Cavu Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Cavu Ventures co-founder and managing partner Clayton Christopher will join Kettle & Fire’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate multi-channel growth and product innovation.

Co-founded by brothers Nick and Justin Mares in 2016, Kettle & Fire launched with three grass-fed beef and organic chicken bone broth offerings and recently expanded into bone broth-based soups, such as Miso, Thai Curry, Tomato and Grass-Fed Chili, bringing the total products offered to seven.
The products are available in more than 6,500 stores nationwide, including Whole Foods, HEB, Sprouts, Wegmans and many other major and independent retailers. The company, which also has a direct-to-consumer e-commerce business, plans to launch additional bone broth-based products later this year.
