Kaleyra Acquires Cloud Communications Company Hook Mobile

kaleyraKaleyra, a Milan, Italy-based provider of global messaging services for banks, SME and large enterprise clients, acquired Vienna (US, Virginia)-based cloud communications company Hook Mobile.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Founded in 2006 and led by and Soren Schafft, CEO, and Terry Hsiao, Chairman, Hook Mobile is a mobile cloud services company with expertise in mobile messaging, device, and network intelligence. It currently reaches over 50 countries with VLN services, close to 200 countries with standard messaging services, and has sent billions of enterprise messages worldwide.

This deal increases Kaleyra’s presence and grant local expertise in the US market, while further enhancing its leadership in the cloud communication services market.

As a result of this acquisition, the company becomes a global leader with significant presence in Europe, Asia and the Americas, with combined revenues of over $100m and a team of over 200 people across 12 locations.
Led by Dario Calogero, CEO, Kaleyra is a global company specialized in providing mobile messaging services for SMEs and leading brands such as one of the tier one e-commerce firm, a tier one global CRM provider, a tier one OTT messaging provider, as well as a broad range of renowned banks and related financial institutions.
Through a closed source platform, the company manages integrated multi-channel communication services on a global scale, using messages, push notifications, e-mail, instant messaging, voice and chatbot services. Its technology currently offers communications services for some 8,000 enterprise customers reaching some 200 countries worldwide.
