PlayPass, an Antwerp, Belgium-based provider of technology solutions for events, raised €1.9m in funding.
Backers included Newion and existing angels.
The company, which has raised €7.9m to date, intends to use the funds for international expansion of its solutions.
Founded in 2012, PlayPass is a technology company that provides RFID solutions to allow clients to gain insight into the operational flow of an event and to enhance and streamline the event experience for all parties involved from the promotional organization to the event visitor to the event’s partners and sponsors. Its focus is on festivals, sporting events, trade shows and concert halls.
The company’s offering includes:
– a cashless payment system to limit or eliminate on-site cash handling,
– an online registration tool to manage accreditations for crew, guests, artists and all other known relations which need to access the event,
– access control to manage public entrances and/or to streamline the entrance flow to specific areas such as VIP-decks, backstage, alcohol-restricted areas or artist’s village, and
– brand activation and social media via RFID-enabled wristbands that can improve the relationship between brands and event-goers.
