Online Luxury Travel Marketplace Secret Escapes Raises £52m

Secret Escapes, a London, UK-based online luxury travel marketplace, raised £52m in funding.

Old Mutual Global Investors made the investment.

The company, which has raised £104m to date, intends to use the capital to continue to integrate the Slevomat Group – a travel deals and experiences company it acquired late last year, and conduct some projects including in-house hotel and dynamic flight packaging across established geographies.

Founded in 2009 and launched in 2011 and led by Alex Saint, CEO, Secret Escapes is an exclusive members only travel club offering discounts and deals on hand-picked luxury hotels and holidays.
The company has 50 million members, approx. 850 workers across eight offices, with more than of 250 employees working in London, and claims to be profitable.
