Edge Cloud Platform Fastly Raises $40M in Funding

Fastly, a San Francisco, CA-based edge cloud platform, raised $40m in funding.

The round was led by Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners (DTCP) with participation from Sozo Ventures, Swisscom Ventures, and existing investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue expanding its edge cloud services as well as explore the demand across financial services, healthcare, and connected vehicles and devices.

Led by Artur Bergman, founder and CEO, Fastly provides digital publishing, e-commerce, and streaming companies, with an edge cloud platform to accelerate the pace of technical innovation, mitigate evolving threats, and scale on demand.
Founded in 2011, the company powers online destinations including Airbnb, GitHub, Alaska Airlines, Pinterest, Vimeo, The Guardian, The New York Times, and Ticketmaster.

In addition to the funding, Fastly added industry veteran Kelly Breslin Wright to its Board of Directors.
